As of our generation today, almost all of us love to play sports. Some play sports mainly just to have fun, but others join such sports in hopes to win medals when they join numerous competitions.
Here in Montessori, we compete at leagues for different sports held by other schools such as Ateneo and more. We’ve already competed at the mentioned university for a team sport named “Handball”. Some of the teams that competed from MIS were victorious as first placers. Others achieved only lower places up to the last, but it is definitely alright. Because as mentioned earlier, we compete not just for winning and having medals but also and most importantly, to have fun.
Swimmers, meanwhile compete almost everywhere around our country. Some even had the chance to compete in other countries to represent our nation! There are also scholarships given by other schools and universities to the swimmers that are very good and dedicated to their sport.
There are a lot of varied sports that most of the people want to try and play. These are namely: Wall Climbing, Taekwondo, Wing Chun, Badminton, Handball, Swimming, Basketball, etc.
Basketball and handball are two of the most preferred and favorite sports of the students in Montessori among all the others that were previously mentioned. A lot of students here in Montessori are good at playing these mentioned sports. An example could be Raymart Fadol, a grade 6 student, who is one of the best players in handball and basketball at the elementary department. Not just boys, but even girls like the grade 6 twins, Naomi and Kaori Grospe, are good at playing these team sports! They always make their teams win during the “MIS Cup”. Another notable athlete from the elementary department is Ethan Go, a badminton player. He competes with athletes from other schools and sometimes gets awarded with a gold medal!
Even if we aren’t that good at the sport we love, we can’t deny the fact that we still enjoy playing because sports are in our blood.
