MIS representatives attended the International Scientific and Practical Conference on Inclusive Education for People with Disabilities: Learning and Living Together, which was held from 14 – 17 May, 2014. It was organized by the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Tatarstan Republic, the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, and was held at the University of Management “TISBI” in Kazan, the Russian Federation.

The Conference discussed a wide range of theoretical and practical issues related to the development of inclusive education for people with disabilities.

The conference brought together representatives of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the State Council of the Tatarstan Republic, the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, and 35 academics and experts from Armenia, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, the United Kingdom, Gambia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, and the Philippines.

The Philippines was represented by Sylvia Lazo, Martin Lazo, and Monica Moreno of MIS, and two DepEd Cavite officials. Dr. Monica presented the school’s inclusion program during the plenary session, which was very well-received by the body of the UNESCO officials.
